CSV import guide

Use this structure when preparing learner marks in a spreadsheet.

CSV format

Your CSV needs one header row followed by one learner per row. Use these exact column names for the simplest import:

Learner nameEnglishMathematicsScienceSocial Studies
Jane Example86789173
John Example64705882

Save as CSV UTF-8. Marks should be numbers from 0 to 100. Enter X in a subject cell when the learner missed that paper; use X in all four subject cells for a learner who missed the whole assessment. X records stay on the report without marks and sort to the bottom. School name and assessment heading are entered separately in the application. Extra columns are ignored; the five required columns must be present.

Step 2 of 3

Export reports

Generate three separate files from the same calculated results.

Step 3 of 3

CSV is plain data. Word is a real DOCX document. PDF is laid out for A4 paper. Word/PDF generation loads libraries from a CDN and therefore needs an internet connection on first use.
